Unlike traditional regulated balance designs, a free-sprung movement uses adjustable weights on the balance wheel for precision regulation. This reduces interference from external regulating arms and allows for improved long-term stability and amplitude consistency — a concept commonly associated with higher-grade chronograph architecture.

Building upon earlier 4130-based versions, UFO Factory concentrated on adapting the free-sprung + weighted balance structure within a chronograph framework. Key development areas include balance inertia calibration, chronograph start/stop smoothness, reset precision, and long-term rate consistency.

With the introduction of the newer 4131 architecture, the movement layout and bridge structure became more refined and optimized. The updated design provides a more suitable foundation for implementing a free-sprung balance system within the Daytona platform.
